Test Engineer — Fire & Thermal

About the Role

Join our growing team as a Test Engineer specialising in fire and thermal testing. You will manage testing programmes for fire reaction (EN 13501-1) and thermal performance (EN 12667, EN 12939) of construction products, ensuring compliance with the Construction Products Regulation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute fire reaction and thermal conductivity test programmes
• Interpret and apply relevant European standards (EN 13501-1, EN 12667, EN 12939)
• Review and approve test reports for technical accuracy
• Liaise with clients on testing requirements and results
• Contribute to accreditation scope extensions
• Participate in round-robin and proficiency testing programmes

Requirements

• MSc in Fire Safety Engineering, Building Physics, or related field
• 3+ years experience in fire or thermal testing of construction products
• In-depth knowledge of EN 13501 series and thermal conductivity methods
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• Experience with SBI, cone calorimeter, or guarded hot plate apparatus
• Knowledge of CPR AVCP systems and notified body requirements
• Experience with ISO 17025 internal auditing
